Disturbance 93-L is a broad area of low pressure over the central portion of the Yucatan Peninsula. This system is moving very slowly toward the west and west-northwest and will emerge into the Bay of Campeche on Friday.
Our forecast models are almost unamimous in their opinion that 93-L will become a tropical cyclone and head into Mexico south of Brownsville, Texas. This will bring heavy rain to portions of Mexico and south and southwest Texas. Right now, this system is not expected to have a significant effect on the weather here in central Louisiana.
