Temperatures remained above average for yet another day in central Louisiana.
A surge of moisture moved through central Louisiana Tuesday night and kept minimum temperatures higher this morning. Most readings were in the 70s, except for Oakdale and Leesville with 69 degrees. Simmesport stayed at 74 degrees. The daily average is 68 and the record low is 53 set in 1911.
Daytime maximum temperatures ranged through the 90s with Simpson and Williana at 97 for the highest reading reported. Natchez, Miss. hit 91 degrees for the lowest temperature. The daily average is 90 degrees and the record high is 100 set in 1905.
Despite more moisture, little rain occurred. Many received 0.04 inches for the only measurable amount I collected through our weather watchers network.
The air will dry out some Thursday, which will lower the chance of rain. Temperatures will stay above normal.
