RAPIDES PARISH, La. (KALB News Channel 5) The Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office investigates burglary.

According to the Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office, on September 13, RPSO Detectives went to 23 Texada Road in Boyce, La., to serve an arrest warrant on Justin Grant Walters. RPSO said Walters was taken into custody without incident. While at the scene, Detectives said they noticed a 16-foot Tandem axel trailer in plain view matching the description of a trailer that was  reported stolen the night before from Savannah Trace. Upon further investigation, RPSO said it was determined that it was in fact the trailer that was stolen. At that time, a search warrant for the property was obtained. According to RPSO, Detectives recovered several items during the search that were listed from the burglary the night before. Narcotics were also found.

RPSO arrested Justin Walters for the warrant and also charged him with Aggravated Burglary, Theft over $1500, three counts Possession of CDS II, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Walters was transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center where he was booked and later released on a $66,250.00 bond. According to RPSO, this makes Walter's sixth arrest since May 2013. Detectives said the investigation is ongoing.

A slow "farmer's" rain fell across the area today as the area was blasted with tropical moisture to the south. As high pressure setup across the eastern U.S., tropical moisture banked up against it and consolidated across the northwestern Gulf of Mexico.
