Police arrest woman for allegedly issuing fraudulent prescriptions

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5 ) – Detectives have arrested a woman for allegedly issuing fraudulent prescriptions.

According to Alexandria Police Department, they have arrested 35-year-old Knakita Dede of Alexandria, for allegedly issuing fraudulent prescriptions of oxycodone and methadone.

Detectives said they began investigating a report that prescription narcotics were being obtained through fraudulent means in August.  The investigation found that Dede, who worked for a local medical facility allegedly, issued fraudulent prescriptions of oxycondone and methadone on several occasions, according to APD.

Dede was taken into custody and transported to Rapides Parish Detention Center. 

She is charged with fifteen counts of obtaining CDS by fraud.

Her bond is set at $112,500.

No other information has been released at this time.
