APD: Two arrests made in North MacArthur shooting

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) – Police say two arrests have been made in a shooting that occurred on Sept. 19,  in the 2700 block of North MacArthur Drive.

According to Alexandria Police Department, they have arrested 40- year-old Allisa Smith of Alexandria, and 37-year-old Antonio Veal of Alexandria and charged them both with one count of attempted first degree murder. 

Smith was taken into custody on Sept. 23 by US Marshal's Fugitive Task Force.  Veal was arrested on Sept. 24.

APD said officers responded to a gunshot victim around 1:41 a.m. on the morning of Sept. 19.  The victim was sent to the hospital and treated for a non-life threatening  gunshot wound.

The investigation is ongoing.  No other details have been released at this time.

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) – The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred early this morning.  

According to APD, the shooting occurred Thursday morning around 1:41 a.m. Officers said they received a notification that someone had been shot and the victim was being treated at a local hospital. The injuries were said to be non-life threatening gunshot wounds.

Officers also said the incident occurred in the 2700 block of North MacArthur Drive.

The investigation is ongoing.
