The Avoyelles Parish Sheriff's Office arrest nine on drug charges

AVOYELLES PARISH, La. (KALB News Channel 5) The Avoyelles Parish Sheriff's Office arrest nine suspects in drug investigation.  

According to Sheriff Doug Anderson, nine people have been arrested by Avoyelles Parish Sheriff's Office/C.I.U./Narcotics investigators and the La. State Police Region III/C.I.D. for suspected possession or distribution of illicit drugs in Avoyelles Parish. Sheriff Anderson said that APSO narcotic investigators along with State Police investigators joined forces to conduct a three month undercover operation in Avoyelles. According to Sheriff Anderson, the specific intent was to identify those individuals allegedly involved in the illegal drug trade and arrest them.

According to APSO, all of the arrests made were related to the possession or distribution of cocaine or marijuana. Sheriff Anderson said that these arrest are only the first round of suspects arrested as a result of the joint investigation. More arrest are pending.  

The following suspects were booked into the Avoyelles Sheriff's Office DC #1:

Sylvain Dorsey, 22, of Marksville, La. was charged with two counts of Distribution of Schedule II CDS. 

Keyoko McDonald, 32, Simmesport, La. was charged with Possession of Schedule II with intent and Possession of Schedule I with intent.

Leron Channel, 22, Marksville, La. was charged with Distribution of Schedule II.

Ladarren Alexander, 30, Simmepsort, La. was charged with Distribution of Schedule II CDS.

Roman Normand, 24, Marksville, La. was charged with Criminal Conspiracy and Distribution of Schedule II CDS.

Don Desselle, 34, Marksville, La. was charged with Criminal Conspiracy and Distribution of CDS II.

Terrance Matthews, 28, Bunkie, La. was charged with Distribution of Schedule II.

Timothy Cooper, 33, Marksville, La. was charged with Distribution of Schedule II CDS.

Quicny Herbert, 36, Hessmer, La. was charged with Distribution of Schedule II CDS.
