Disturbance 95-L continues about 100 miles northeast of Tampico, Mexico. Movement is to the NNW at 5-10 mph. This system has weakened during the past 24 hours. Conditions still favor marginal development and the National Hurricane Center gives a 30% chance of 95-L developing into a tropical cyclone.
The suite of forecast models still appear confused as to where 95-L will move. Some models take it into Mexico; others either move 95-L northward or take it to Florida as it merges with a trough in the jetstream and a cold front. Because of this uncertainty, I am still advising interests in Mexico and the United States Gulf Coast to monitor 95-L this weekend.
