APD: Arrest made in shooting investigation

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) – According to Alexandria Police Department, detectives have arrested Major James Tarleton Jr., 24, of Alexandria for one count of first attempted degree murder.

 According to a release from APD, he is linked to a Lee Street shooing investigation that occurred on Sept. 22. Tarleton was arrested on Sept. 23. No other details have been released at this time.

 The shooting was said to have occured on  the 3500 Block of Lee Street. APD said the incident was reported at 3:16 a.m., and a male victim was transported to a local hospital where he was treated and released.

Major is his name and not a title, according to the release.

The investigation is ongoing.
