APD: Arrest made after man held victim with knife

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel ) – Police say they have arrested a man for allegedly holding a victim with a knife for a brief period of time.

According to Alexandria Police Department, they have arrested 71-year-old Jack Baker for one count aggravated assault and one count of false imprisonment with weapon.

APD said officers were dispatched to a residence on Gay Road in reference to a domestic disturbance on Tuesday, Sept. 24, around 6:42 p.m. The victim reported that Baker allegedly assaulted held them for a brief time with a knife.

Baker was arrested on scene and transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center.

The victim was said not to be injured.

The investigation is ongoing.
