LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) - Federal authorities say an Opelousas man has pleaded guilty to his role in a robbery at the Post Office in Lawtell.

U.S. Attorney Stephanie Finley in Lafayette said Tuesday that 33-year-old Willie Jamal Reynolds pleaded guilty in connection with the robbery of a Postal Service contract route driver in August of 2011. The robbery occurred as the driver was at the Lawtell Post Office loading dock.

Finley said the driver had to be taken to a hospital after two men grabbed him by the neck and wrestled him down. Reynolds admitted to driving a van used to drive the two assailants to and from the Post Office.

Reynolds is to be sentenced Feb. 14 and could get up to 25 years in prison.
