LaSalle Sheriff's Deputy arrested for forcible rape and battery

JENA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) Louisiana State Police investigation leads to arrest of LaSalle Parish Deputy Clarence Breland Jr.

According to Louisiana State Police, Investigators from the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations, Alexandria Field Office have arrested LaSalle Parish Sheriff's Deputy Clarence Breland Jr., 52, of Jena, La. After a preliminary investigation, LSP detectives arrested Breland Jr. on September 27, for forcible rape and battery. 

According to Louisiana State Police, they received information and a request from the LaSalle Parish Sheriff's Office in reference to investigating an alleged rape and battery incident involving one of their deputies. LSP detectives immediately began an investigation by conducting interviews and gathering forensic evidence. LSP detectives obtained an arrest warrant and Breland Jr. was taken into custody at the LaSalle Parish Sheriff's Office. LSP said Breland Jr. was booked into the LaSalle Parish Detention Center without bond.
