Trick or Treat Times

The Rapides Parish Police Jury is asking the public that all in Rapides Parish  observe Halloween on Wed.,Oct. 30 due to the strong possibility of rain. For more information call 473-6660.

Oct. 30 - Opelousas  - Trick-or-treating times are 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. 

Oct. 30 - Hessmer - Trick-or-treat for the town of Hessmer 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Hesser will also have their annual haunted party on Main Street. 

Oct. 30 – Ball - Trick-or-Treating will be from 5-8 p.m.

Oct. 30-Mansura - Trick-or Treating will be from 5-8 p.m.

Oct. 30 -Lecompte  - Trick-or-treating times are 6- 8 p.m.

Oct. 30 -Plaucheville - Trick-or-Treating times have changed to Wed. 5 to 7:30 p.m.

Oct. 30 - Simmesport - Trick-or-Treating will be 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Oct. 30 - Avoyelles Manor Halloween Bash is changing the dateHalloween The Halloween Bash will be Wednesday the 30th from 5-7 pm.

Oct. 30 - DeRidder's Trick or treat times at the Youth Council Trick-or-Treat Trail in West Park  begin at 6 p.m.  City Wide Trick-or-Treating  is from 6-8 p.m.

Oct. 30 Cheneyville -  Trick-or-treating times are 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. If it rains trick-or-treating will  move to the old Town Hall.

Oct. 30  -Alexandria - Times for Trick-or-Treating in the city of Alexandria will be 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Oct. 30- Oakdale -Trick-or-Treating for the town for Oakdale is 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Oct. 30- Oakdale - Allen Oaks nursing home residents will be distributing candy to kids starting at 4:30 p.m. The nursing home is providing hot dogs, popcorn and punch to the first 400 visitors.

Oct. 30 - Pineville – Trick-or- Treating will be  from 5-8 p.m.  

Fall Family Festival 6pm-8pm

Oct. 30- Fifth Ward Community Of Avoyelles Parish--Trick-or-Treating will be from 5-7:30 p.m.

 

Oct. 30- Anacoco -  Trick-or-Treating will be 6-8 p.m.

Oct. 30- Hornbeck – Trick-or Treating will be between 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. 

Oct. - 30 - Moreauville - trick a treating will be at Moreauville Fire Station.. 5:30 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Oct. 30 - Boyce  - Trick or Treating  times are   5 – 8 p.m.

Oct. 31 -Cottonport - Trick-or-treating will be from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.

Oct. 31 Forest Hill – Canceled. 

Oct. 31 – Fort Polk - Trick-or-Treating will be 5-8 p.m. 

Oct. 31 – New Llano -  Trick-or-Treating will be 6-8 p.m.

Oct. 31-Bunkie- Trick-or -Treating will be from 5:30 p.m.-8 p.m. Trick or Treat around the walking track has been moved inside the Haas Auditorium on the corner of Lake St and Perishing Hwy across the street from the walking track. The auditorium will be open at 4 p.m.  Thursday for any  individuals or groups wanting to set up to give out Halloween Treats from 5-8 p.m.

Oct.31- Colfax - Trick-or -Treating will be from 5-8 p.m.

Oct. 31- Marksville - Trick-or- Treating will be from 5 p.m. -7:30 p.m. Haunted House will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at old city hall on Main Street.

Oct. 31- Glenmora  - Trick-or-treating times are5:30 - 8:30 p.m. 

Oct. 31- Georgetown - Trick-or-treating will be 6:30 p.m.  It  will be moved to  the Community Center.

Oct. 31- Alexandria Mall-  Trick-or-Treating will be 5 - 7 p.m. 

Oct. 31- Jena- Trick-or-Treating times are  5 - 9 p.m.

Oct. 31- Montgomery- Trick-or-treating will start at 5:30 p.m.

Oct. 31 - Leesville - Witch Way to Main is 5-7 p.m. and Trick-or-treating is 5- 8 p.m.

 




Halloween Activities

Sept. 27: Nov. 2: Tree Farm Massacre – TRM is in Leesville and is not for the faint of heart, at least that's what the website says. The Louisiana horror trail is a walking trail and takes around 30 to 45 minutes to go through. Gates are open 6 p.m. to midnight. Children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult.  Tickets are $15 per person. For more information visit: http://www.treefarmmassacre.com/

Oct. 15 Pumpkin Carving Contest - LSUA students will be showing off their creative skills in the Pumpkin Carving Contest. All pumpkins will be displayed on the sidewalk in front of the cafeteria the morning of the 15th from 8: 30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Each pumpkin will be tagged with a number and theme/name.  Votes will be tallied and the winner will be announced on the Quad at 12:00 noon and receive a $100 gift card to the LSUA bookstore. Votes will be based on the most creative, unique, funny and original pumpkin carvings. 

Oct 17, 18 & 19 Phantasmagoria Productions Screening of "Dead Inside" Presented by the JSG - An indie short film shot in here in Leesville. Q&A After the film by Director Fred L. Taulbee Jr. May not be suitable for all ages. It will be held at 6p.m. at Joseph Sisters Gallery, 406 C. Oct.  24-26 – Zoo Boo – The Alexandria Zoo will have its annual Zoo Boo. I will be 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Admission $5.

Oct. 25 - Halloween Open Mic Night - Empty Space Players at LSUA invites all to bring their scariest, creepiest and most blood-curling story, song, poem, monologue, mime, etc. and share them at Halloween Open Mic Night. Offerings should be kept under 15 minutes. The free event will begin at 7 p.m., and is open to students and the community. Everyone is welcome to come in costume. Oct. 25 -Tales Along the Bayou: Ghost Stories at Kent House - The event starts at 6 p.m. and is open to the public. Chick-fil-a will be selling food and drinks.

Oct. 25: Fall Festival/ Halloween Carnival - Central High School of Larto Lake is hosting the event. It  starts at 6 p.m.  There will be games for the children, Bingo, a cake walk and costume contests for all ages.

Oct. 25- 26 -The Night of Horror Haunted house for Hearts 4 Paws Animal Rescue - All proceeds go for animal rescue. It starts at dark and lasts until midnight. $10 It will be held at 201 Murphy Street, Alexandria.

October 26: Thrift or Treat - The Alexandria Flea Market vendors will be hosting their very first "Thrift or Treat"! The event will be held at 5412 Masonic Drive on the Flea Market grounds, just past Home Depot.  A chance for children to dress in their costumes to collect treats from vendors in a completely safe environment.  2 p.m. – 4 p.m. For more information on the event or booth rental, please contact our office at 318- 441-9900.

Oct. 26- St. Mary's School annual Halloween party - The party will be held in the St. Mary's School Gym from 7:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. There will be a costume contest so costumes are encouraged. There will be a D.J. and drinks will be sold. Advanced tickets are $12 a person and $20 for a couple. Tickets can be purchased in the school office and may also be purchased at the door for $12 a person and $25 a couple. For more information call the school at 318-876-3651.

Oct. 26 - Holiday Festival- The event will be held at Gateway Baptist Church located at   7074 Monroe Highway in Ball. There will be over 40 vendors featuring Pappy's Kitchens Truck.  Trick-or-Treating will be 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Times: 9a.m.-4p.m. 

Oct. 30- Kees Park Fall Family Festival – The 8th annual event will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Highway 28 East in Pineville. For more information call 318-449-5676 or 318-449-5650.

Oct. 30 - Costume Contest – The event will serve as a fundraiser for Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. It will be for staff members  The winner will be determined by the amount of dollars he or she raises in votes.  Diane Mazza will also be in the store with her one-of-a-kind jewelry designs.  Everyone is invited to come out and help vote and have a great time. Schnack's Fine Jewelry,  1438 Dorchester Drive,  10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Oct. 31 - Halloween Costume Party, Beef 'O' Brady's Restaurant -  Free kids meal when adult purchases entrée. 5803 Coliseum Boulevard, Alexandria

Oct. 31 Witch Way to Main - Downtown Leesville's annual event for the whole family. Dress up and head on down and do some trick or treating in the Leesville Main Street district. This is a great chance to see what new downtown is and have fun all at the same time! It starts at 5 p.m. and will be held at 200 East Courthouse Street 2nd Floor, Leesville, Louisiana 71446. Oct. 31: Witch Way to Main Street & Ghoul School - The event is sponsored by the city of Natchitoches and gives children 12 and under the chance to trick-or-treat at local participating businesses in the area. Witch Way will also feature face painting, Sparky the Fire Dog, a Haunted House, tours of the "Haunted" Natchitoches Parish Library Bookmobile, games and more!  It will be held at  MLK Recreation Center located at 660 MLK, Jr. Drive in Natchitoches.Call 318- 352-2746 for more information.

Nov. 1 – The Block is Hot - This event will feature food, fun, games and a free concert featuring the hottest artists in Cenla. Musical guests will include: Sonz of Redemption, The Hood Mayor, and First Class. The event is sponsored by Youngstar Entertainment.  6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. It will be at the corner of Lee Street and Texas Avenue. For more information call 318-442-8638

Nov. 1 -Forest Hill Elem. School Fall Festival -  Food, games, silent auction. Besigs at 5:30 p.m. Mr. and Miss. Forest Hill Pageant will be held at 8 p.m.

Oct.15- 31 Pumpkin Patch - Unity Baptist Church is hosting a Pumpkin Patch. 1p.m.- 3 p.m. The address is 6509 Magnolia Lane, Pineville. For more information call Pastor Jason Dubea at 664-5984.

Oct. 16 - 31  First United Pentecostal Church of Oakdale – The church will have several events through the month of October including a Papa K's Pumpkin Patch and Fall Festival. For a full list of events visit http://www.oakdalepentecostals.org. They are located at 429 W 6th Ave. Oakdale.  

Oct. 26 – King of Kings Fall Festival  2013 -  Face painting, cake walk, contests  and more. 204 Pecan Park Ave., Alexandria.  6 – 8 p.m.

 
Oct. 28: Our Lady of Prompt Succor Third Grade Pumpkin Contest - Students will display their hand crafted decorated pumpkins and a narrative story to accompany the pumpkin as part of their Language Arts lessons.  The pumpkins will be painted, built and embellished but not carved and will be judged in several categories such as sports, look-a-likes, scariest pumpkins, best Halloween character, and most original pumpkins.  The Decorative Pumpkin contest and writing lesson has been a long standing tradition that the third grade class looks forward to each year.  It brings the Halloween spirit and smiles to OLPS just in time for Halloween festivities.  Ihe time to come by for pictures or footage would be anytime between 10am-2:30 p.m.  For more information contact Tonya Curcio at 449-9073 ext. 209 or 308-2682.

Oct. 30 -Tioga First Baptist in Pineville will be doing their Trunk or Treat indoors on Thursday evening from 5-7 p.m.
 

October 30–Fall Festival at Humble Church in the Plainview Community. There will be games, fellowship, and plenty of food.  6p.m.  at 70 Humble Church Rd. Elizabeth in Alexandria.


Oct. 31 - Pine Hill Baptist Church - Fun night of candy, games, bounce houses, happy costume contest, chili cook-off, free dinner, and a hay ride. It will held be at 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and at 128 Pine Hill Church Rd. Leesville

Oct. 31 - New Prospect Baptist Church of Dry Prong - The church will hold a Harvest Festival from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. All are invited to come wearing costumes to play games, trunk or treat and eat.

Oct. 31 Trunk R Treat- Unity Baptist Church is hosting a trunk-or-treat. There will be free food, games, face painting and candy. 5 p.m. -8 p.m. The address is 6509 Magnolia Lane, Pineville. For more information call Pastor Jason Dubea at 664-5984. 

Oct. 31 - Twin Bridges Baptist Church - Trunk Or Treat - Come and join us for a night of family fun! Candy, Games, Food, and a Bounce House! Free admission and food to public. 5:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Oct. 31: Recharge  - Recharge at Philadelphia Baptist Church in Deville. It will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Games, music and more.

Oct. 31 Fall festival at Kingsville Baptist Church - There will be candy, games, jumpers, chili and desserts.  It will be held at 3911 Monroe Highway in Ball between 6-8 p.m.  Free event.

Oct. 31 - Christian Love Baptist Church Fall Festival (October Fest) will be held from 5:30 - 7 p.m. at 3502 Hudson Blvd.  This event is free to the public, there will be fun, fun, fun, festival foods, games, hay ride, bounce houses and treats galore.  This event is tailored to keeping kids off the streets during the Halloween night, providing them a safe environment to enjoy and have fun.
