The pattern of warm days and comfortable nights continued Friday around central Louisiana.
Morning lows were near seasonal levels with a range from the upper 50s to the middle 60s. Winnfield reported a low of 59 degrees while Opelousas, Natchez, Miss., Ville Platte, and Oberlin saw 64 degrees. Charles Park and the D.G. Hunter Power Plant also reported 64 degrees. The daily average is 62 and the record is a chilly 40 set in 1899.
Daytime temperatures were higher than the normal of 85 degrees. Bellwood reached 93 and several others reported 91 degrees, including Winnfield, Colfax, Esler Airport, and Peason Range. Natchez, Miss. continued to be the cool spot with 86. The record high is 99 set in 1953.
Saturday will offer little change except clouds will increase some. The chance for rain begins Sunday ahead of a front.
