The weather word continues to be "humidity" as we get into midweek.
The humid night kept low temperatures well above normal with upper 60s to lower 70s observed across the area. Winnfield dropped to 66 degrees and Esler Airport reported 67 degrees. Hagewood was the warm spot with a low of 72 degrees. The daily average is 60 and the record is 40 set in 1984.
Sunshine mixed with clouds during the day and sent temperatures up into the 80s. Simmesport hit 90 degrees while Bentley only saw 84. The daily average is 83 and the record is 97 set in 1900.
Scattered rain once again occurred around central Louisiana. East of Winnfield a report of one inch came in for the most reported in the area. Esler Airport measured 0.75 inches. I estimate the coverage at 60%.
The warm, humid weather pattern continues through Thursday but the coverage of rain should drop to about 30%.
