I continue to monitor a few areas of interest in the Atlantic Basin today.
A weak area of low pressure is located about midway between Puerto Rico and Bermuda. This system is moving northward. Conditions appear to be unfavorable for any significant development.
Cloudiness, showers, and a few thunderstorms continue to accompany the remnants of Karen over northern Florida. Movement is toward the east and northeast.
A large area of disturbed weather is located south and southwest of the Cape Verde Islands. This system has been given the designation 98-L. Movement is toward the WNW at 5-10 mph. Conditions favor slow development of 98-L this week.
