Tuesday was another delightful day for folks in central Louisiana.
The day began with a chill in the air as lows fell into the upper 40s and lower 50s. Winnfield, Jena, Oakdale, Union Hill/Glenmora, Leesville, and Ball/Tioga all reported a low of 48 degrees. Close behind were Simmesport, Otis/Hineston, and Aloha with 49 degrees. The D.G. Hunter Power Plant in Alexandria was the warm spot with a low of 54 degrees. The daily average is 58 and the record is 36 set in 1952.
Despite full-time sunshine, afternoon highs stayed mostly in the 70s. Esler airport and Bellwood touched 80 degrees while Natchez, Miss. hit 73 degrees. The daily average is 81 and the record is 94 set in 1962.
Little change is expected for Wednesday.
