Alexandria Resident Arrested for Disturbing the Peace

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - Alexandria Police arrested Tayla E. Branch, 21 of Alexandria on Tuesday for engaging in a disturbance in the area of Bolton and Park Avenue, according to APD.

An APD officer on patrol noticed a large group of males and females and attempted to investigate the cause of the disturbance. In the process, one subject, later identified as Branch, directed his aggression towards the officer, according to APD. 

Additional units were called in to assist once the crowd became aggressive towards the officer.  APD said Branch was arrested following a short foot chase and the crowd was dispersed.

Police charged the 21-year-old with one count of disturbing the peace, inciting a riot and resisting an officer.

Branch was transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center for booking.

The cause of the disturbance is under investigation. There were no reported injuries.
