New student artwork to be featured at Governor's Mansion

BATON ROUGE, LA. (KALB News Channel 5) Louisiana's First Lady announces October's featured student artwork.

As a part of the Jindal family's initiative to feature young artists, Louisiana's First Lady Supriya Jindal announced on October 9, the artwork that was selected for display in the Louisiana's Governor's Mansion for the month of October.

First Lady Supriya Jindal said, "The artwork on display in the month of October truly reveals the imagination of young students in Louisiana, while also reflecting lessons learned in classrooms. Certainly these pieces will delight all who visit the Governor's Mansion."

This month, the First Lady asked principals from schools across Louisiana to submit works for display in the Louisiana Governor's Mansion. In 2008, the Jindal family dedicated this wall of the mansion to children's artwork. Every month a new group of art is displayed to pay tribute to Louisiana's young artists.
