Lange. He was then transported to Terrebonne General Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. According to Police, the cause of death is still under investigation.

"It is with a heavy heart that I announce the unexpected passing of Sgt. Brett Lange. His passing should be a reminder to all of us of how precious life is. Each day is a gift and what we choose to do with that gift becomes our legacy," said Colonel Mike Edmonson, State Police Superintendent. "Sgt. Lange was a respected Trooper, but more importantly, a proud husband and father.  Please keep Sgt. Lange, his family and the entire Department of Public Safety in your thoughts and prayers."
