BATON ROUGE, La. (KALB News Channel 5) – LSU Rural Life Museum to host "Haints, Haunts and Halloween: A Rural Life Fall Fair."

The LSU Rural Life Museum invites the public to dress in costumes and enjoy an afternoon that is a safe and scenic venue for trick or treating as the museum hosts "Haints, Haunts and Halloween: A Country Fair."

The event will take place on October 27, from 3:30-6:30 p.m. at the museum complex, located within Burden Museum & Gardens at 4560 Essen Lane, next to I-10 in Baton Rouge.

Visitors can take part in activities reflective of the sights, sounds and activities of an old-fashioned country Halloween fair. Visitors can listen to "The 13 Ghosts of Windrush" during storytelling time. Face painting, wagon rides, historic games, apple dunking and, of course, old-fashioned trick-or-treating will take place in and around the historic buildings. Music will be provided by Miss Dorothy and the Shaky Egg Band. Refreshments will be available for sale, including popcorn balls and ginger cookies.

Admission to "Haints, Haunts and Halloween" is $5 per person. For more information, contact the LSU Rural Life Museum at rurallife@lsu.edu or call (225) 765-2437. To learn more about Burden Museum & Gardens, visit www.discoverburden.com
