The new week began on a pleasant note with temperatures hovering near seasonal levels.
The day began with slightly below normal temperatures. Winnfield dropped to 42 degrees for the lowest temperature reported. In contrast, Opelousas reported 54 degrees. The daily average is 53 degrees and the record is 31 set in 1976.
Clouds increased quickly during the mid-morning hours and limited the daytime temperature rise. Readings ranged through the 70s with Union Hill/Glenmora only making it up to 70 degrees while Hagewood hit 76 degrees.
The clouds produced sprinkles at a few locations.
Another cold front will traverse the area Tuesday and will bring a continuation of the fall-like weather.
