I've just spoken to the weather watchers and they agree-it was quite pleasant today.
The day began cool with temperatures about five degrees below the seasonal average. Thermometers in Winnfield, Jena, Oakdale and Natchez, Miss. fell into the middle 40s. Fort Polk and Williana both stayed in the lower 50s. The daily average is 52 degrees and the record low is 32 set in 1917.
Full sunshine turned temperatures around 30+ degrees at most points. Many anf Bellwood warmed to 86 degrees while Natchez, Miss. stayed at 79. The daily average is 77 degrees and the record is 91 set in 1953.
A cold front will move through central Louisiana overnight. A steady breeze out of the northeast will drop afternoon temperatures 10-15 from Thursday's highs.
