APD: two teens arrested for vehicle burglary

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) – Authorities have charged two teens with vehicle burglary.

Alexandria police said they have arrested 19-year-old Johnny E. Bennette Jr. of Tioga, and 17-year-old Tommy J. Coutee of Boyce, and charged them both with two counts of simple burglary of a vehicle and one count of felony theft of $500 or more.

Detectives said on Oct. 24th they were contacted by detectives from the Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office Tioga Sub-Station and told that Bennett and Coutee were in custody.  According to RPSO, Bennett and Coutee were attempting to sell stolen items taken from vehicle burglaries committed in the Alexandria area.

Bennett and Coutee allegedly committed theft and vehicle burglaries in the 2000 block of North Bolton and 3000 block of North MacArthur Drive areas.

Bennett and Coutee were transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center.

The investigation is ongoing.  No other details are being released.
