RPSO: routine traffic stop leads to two arrests

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) – A man and woman face drug charges after suspected methamphetamine was discovered in a vehicle they were riding in during a routine traffic stop.

According to Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office, deputies stopped Roiann Sharp, 45, and Charles Bradford, 53, on Oct. 22nd for failing to signal near Shamrock Street.  Sharp was found to have to active arrest warrants.

The officers searched Sharp and found a silver container with suspected methamphetamine in her pocket.  A search of the vehicle found a pouch containing syringes, a syringe containing methamphetamine, and a baggie of methamphetamine and digital scales.

RPSO said the passenger, Bradford admitted to knowing the drugs were in the vehicle.

Sharp was charged with possession of CDS II, possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of contempt of court warrants

Bradford was charged with possession of CDS II and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Sharp and Bradford were also charged with parole violations.

Sharp and Bradford were transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center.
