APD: Routine traffic stop leads to a gun and drugs

ALEXADNRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) – Police have arrested a man after finding drugs and a gun in his possession during a routine traffic stop.

According to Alexandria police, they stopped Warren F. Courts IV, 27, of Pineville on Sunday around 10:35 p.m. in reference to a traffic violation. It was during the stop that officers searched his vehicle and located suspected Crystal Meth, a handgun and drug paraphernalia.

Courts was transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center.  He is charged with one count Ill carrying of weapon/drugs, one count possession of Sch II Drugs and one count possession of drug paraphernalia.

The investigation is ongoing.   No other details have been released.
