BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - A 53-year-old Baton Rouge woman admitted in federal court to stealing more than $200,000 from her former employer over a nearly three-year span.

The Advocate reports (http://bit.ly/17VlKOV ) Theresa L. Gomez faces up to 20 years in prison, and likely restitution, after pleading guilty Monday to one count of wire fraud.

U.S. District Judge James Brady did not set a sentencing date for Gomez, who remains free on bond.

Last month, federal prosecutors alleged Gomez, a former escrow officer at a title company, stole $200,000-plus from the firm between August 2009 and June 2012.
