Kent House Hearth Lunch

Posted: Updated:

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - Now you can treat yourself and friend to some historical cooking courtesy of the Kent House.

Kent House is offering authentic hearth cooking every WEdnesday from now through April.

It's an opportunity for a group to have lunch in their hearth kitchen.

You can learn how cooking was done on plantations throughout the state and get a great meal as well.

"It's a lost art, it's becoming more and more of something that we kind of look at in books but we don't actually see. And here you get to come and see firsthand what actually took place during the plantation times," said Eric Coon, who is one of the cooks.

To find out more or schedule lunch you can call the Kent House office at 487-5998.
