At about 10:50 Friday morning the Rapides Parish Sheriff's oOffice was called to a robbery at Sabine State Bank in Hineston.

When deputies arrived the two suspects in the crime were gone along with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Nobody was hurt in the crime, but it does have some people in the small community rattled.

"You never expect something like this to happen, so when it does, it just shocks you," said W.L. Bynog.

A bank robbery in broad daylight is leaving the small community of Hineston on edge.

"RPSO received a call of an armed robbery here at the Hineston branch of the Sabine State Bank. Our deputies responded. Our initial information is, the suspects are two black males, they had Ski masks on, they entered the bank armed with handguns and they left the bank with an undetermined amount of cash," said Tommy Carnline.

Those with loved ones in the bank during the robbery are thankful no one was hurt.

"She just said that two guys came in and held them up at gun point so I just made sure she was okay and just thank God for that you know," said Bynog, whose wife is a teller at the bank.

"The Bank personnel did exactly what they were supposed to do, it's our job to catch these people, it's not anyone elses job, so that's what we're going to do, and we need the public's help in doing that," said Carnline.

At this time law enforcement is asking for the public's help.

"Anybody in the Hineston area, saw anything suspicious this morning, possibly 30 minutes to an hour prior to this happening, give our office a call, we'll get them in touch with a detective, they can take that information and that may be the key to solving this crime," said Carnline.

"I hope they catch them. I hope they catch them pretty quick because nobody likes having a gun pointed at their wife," said Bynog.

The sheriff's office says that those responsible for the robbery should be considered armed and dangerous.
