LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) - The search is continuing for a Duson woman allegedly kidnapped by the father of her child.

Lafayette police have issued an arrest warrant for 29-year-old Scott Thomas of Leonville following a Wednesday incident at a daycare center. Witnesses told police that Thomas arrived at the center that evening and confronted 29-year-old Bethany Areceneaux.

Thomas allegedly forced Arceneaux into his vehicle and drove away. Arceneaux's 2-year-old child was left inside of Arceneaux's vehicle at the day care and was not taken.

Arceneaux's relatives described her Thursday to The Advertiser (http://bit.ly/1iRGvQJ ) as a down-to-earth mother who is always willing to help others.
