Most central Louisiana residents heading out to work and school were greeted by the lowest temperatures so far this fall.
Esler Airport and Natchez, Miss. reported a low of 24 degrees. Jena, Bellwood, and Jonesville saw 25 on their thermometers this morning. DeRidder, Ville Platte, Eunice, and the D.G. Hunter Power Plant in Alexandria all reported 31 degrees. Many folks also saw a heavy frost this morning and reported that it was indeed a killing freeze. The daily average is 46 and the record is 25 set in 1963.
A warming trend began Thursday afternoon and will continue through the weekend. Would you believe we may see temperatures up to 80 degrees this weekend?
