APD: Pineville woman arrested for DWI, drugs

PINEVILLE, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - A Pineville woman is charged for DWI and drug possession.

According to the Alexandria Police Department, an officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed in a construction zone on Highway 71 headed east towards the OK Allen Bridge on November 13 about 11 p.m.

The officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop but, the vehicle continued on into Pineville before she stopped.

Police say that's when Chelsea Martin, 21, of Pineville, exited her vehicle. The officer could smell the odor of marijuana.

According the APD, the officer was allowed to search the vehicle, which turned up a small amount of marijuana and some loose pills. Martin was arrested and tested for DWI.

Chelsea Martin was charged with DWI 1st, Possession of CDS I (Marijuana), Possession of CDS II (Adderal), Speeding and Open container of alcohol in her vehicle.
