Indie Craft Walk

Posted: Updated:

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - Downtown Alexandria showed its artistic side Saturday on the streets.

It is the first Indie craft walk-- the event was put on by Finnegans Wake and Tamp and Grind.

It featured potters, jewelery makers, craftmakers and the Rapides Children's Advocacy Center.

There was also a tap dance jam session with the money raised being donated to typhoon relief in the Philippines.

"We are having the best time. It is really laid back here, everybody seemed to be enjoying themselves. Very low stress, everyone just hanging out and talking about art," said Melissa Scarborough

Event organizers say the plan is to have several more craft walks throughout the year.
