I've spoken to the central Louisiana weather watchers and the verdict is in: it was a delightful day!
Morning lows were slightly above normal. Winnfield was the cool spot with 47 degrees while Anacoco, Woodworth, and Fort Polk fell to 53. The daily average is 44 and the record is a hard freeze in 1951 at 21 degrees.
High temperatures ranged through the 60s, a full 8-15 degrees lower than Monday's highs. Natchez, Miss. was once again the cool spot with 63 degrees while Ville Platte and Bellwood hit 68. The long-term average is 68 and the record is 85 in 1988.
The pleasant weather pattern will hold for another day before changes begin Thursday.
