RAPIDES PARISH, La. (KALB News Channel 5) Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office burglary investigation leads to arrest.

According to the Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office, on November 19 at approximately 9 a.m., Deputies from the Deville Sub Station responded to 19 Nickolas Rd. in reference to a burglary that had just occurred. RPSO said upon arrival, the victim stated he received a phone call from a witness stating a subject, later identified as Keith Free, had just left his residence carrying a crowbar. The victim checked his residence and discovered some prescription medication had been taken. Deputies inspected the back door and found pry marks on the door frame and the dead bolt clasp was broken on the inside. RPSO said Deputies made contact with Free at his residence at 18 Nickolas Rd. where he was detained until Detectives arrived on the scene.

According to RPSO, after further investigation by Detectives, Russell Keith Free was placed under arrest for Burglary of Inhabited Dwelling and transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center where he was booked. RPSO said Free was later released on a $5000.00 bond.
