Multicultural Christmas Concert - December 3 at 7 p.m. The Louisiana Folklife Center at Northwestern State University, the NSU Office of Cultural Diversity and the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts will host the fifth Annual Natchitoches-NSU Multicultural Christmas Concert in Treen Auditorium at the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts. The concert will include secular and sacred Christmas songs and will feature groups from the surrounding area. Admission is free and open to the public, but donations for Cane River Children's Services in Natchitoches will be accepted.

Follow the Star & Christmas on the Hill Program at Louisiana College - The Christmas on the Hill production in the Martin Performing Arts Center on December 5th and 6th. Two showings are available at 6pm and 7pm Thursday evening. Friday evening there will be three showings: 6pm, 7pm, and 8pm. Admission is free. Due to inclement weather expected on Thursday and Friday the outdoor portion of Follow the Star has been canceled and is not set to occur this Christmas season.

The 87th Annual Natchitoches Christmas Festival- The event begins Saturday, December 7 in downtown Natchitoches. The Natchitoches Historic District Business Association and the City of Natchitoches will usher in the holiday season with children's activities, entertainment, parades, food vendors, and fireworks. The Mrs. Claus parade will begin at 11:00 a.m. and feature floats, spirit groups, and performers of junior high school aged and younger participants. The Mrs. Claus parade will begin at the corner of Amulet Street and Jefferson Street and continue down Front Street turning left onto Lafayette Street and left onto Second Street ending at Amulet Street. The Santa Claus parade will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the corner of Jefferson Street and University Parkway. The parade will feature floats of reigning Queens including Miss Merry Christmas and the Christmas Belles and local dignitaries, marching bands, dance lines, parade Grand Marshal Frank Foster and Santa Claus. At 6:00 p.m., the festivities will be capped off by a spectacular fireworks display over beautiful Cane River Lake and the lighting of thousands of lights, including two new set pieces for the Natchitoches Tri-Centennial Celebration and the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame and Northwest Louisiana History Museum. In addition, an electrifying light show will take place on the Church Street Bridge. Admission to the festival is $8 for adults (12 years of age and older) and $5 for children ages 6 to 11. Snow Fest December - December 13 and 14. The festival of lights in Natchitoches continues with Snow Fest. The public can experience Frosty's Avalanche Slide with tubing down 110 feet of winter fun on the downtown riverbank. Those sliding down the hill must be at least 42 inches tall to participate. Frosty's Avalanche Slide will operate from 3 to 8 p.m. on Dec. 13, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Dec. 14. In addition, children's activities including bouncers, mechanical bulls, spider jumps, and an extreme gyro, as well as festival food vendors will be available along the downtown riverbank. The Santa Claus house will be open from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Live musical entertainment for Saturday's Snow Fest events includes Rivers Revue at 2:30 p.m. and the LaCour Trio at 5 p.m. Saturday's events conclude with a spectacular fireworks show over Cane River Lake at 7 p.m. Admission of $5 will be charged to enter the riverbank after 2 p.m.
