The tranquil weather pattern continued today.
The morning began with a chill as temperatures ranged from the middle 30s to the lower 40s. Natchez, Miss. reported a low of 34 degrees with Esler Airport and Jena at 35. Fort Polk and the D.G. Hunter Power Plant in Alexandria stayed up at 43 degrees. The long-term daily average is 44 degrees and the record is 22 in 1951.
Plentiful sunshine turned temperatures around 30+ degrees from the morning lows to the afternoon highs. Bellwood hit 74 degrees and Ville Platte registered 73. Winnfield was the cool spot with a high of only 68 degrees. The long-term daily average is 67 and the record is 88 in 1963.
