RPSO makes four drug possession arrests

RAPIDES PARISH, La. (KALB News Channel 5) Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office investigation leads to four arrests.

According to the Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office, on November 19, 2013, Detectives assigned to the Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office Metro Division served a search warrant at 716 Compton Street in Alexandria. RPSO said Detectives received numerous citizen complaints reporting nonstop vehicle traffic and marijuana and crack cocaine sales. Surveillance was conducted on the residence which confirmed the complaints. Detectives obtained a search warrant for the residence and when they arrived, they located three subjects on the front porch. RPSO said Tivis Peace attempted to pull away from detectives and flee, but was quickly taken into custody. According to RPSO, Peace had several bags of marijuana in his possession. 

RPSO said Gamal Batiste, Gregory Batiste and Kenneth Fisher were located in the living room and identified themselves as residents of the home. A search of the residence was conducted, and a total of 25 bags of marijuana were located. The bags of marijuana ranged in size from quarter ounce, half ounce, ounce and larger quantities.  RPSO said Peace, Gamal Batiste and Gregory Batiste were transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center where they were booked later released on bond. RPSO said Fisher was transported and remains in custody on a Probation Violation.
