RPSO: Suspect in dog fighting ring booked on new charges

RAPIDES PARISH, La. (KALB News Channel 5) The Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office makes additional arrest in dog fighting ring.

According to the Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office, on November 22, 2013, another arrest was made in the multi state dog fighting ring uncovered by RPSO deputies in early October. Detectives said they are still developing information and obtaining evidence in this case. 

RPSO said more charges were filed on a previous suspect, and a warrant was issued for John Marshall Daniels of 1615 Levy Street in Beaumont, Tx. for one count Criminal Conspiracy and two counts Criminal Trespassing. According to RPSO, Daniels turned himself in to Detectives, and he was booked on these new charges and later released on a $2000.00 bond. 

RPSO said Daniels was one of the original arrests on October 6 located at the scene. Initially he was arrested for Criminal Trespassing and Dog Fighting. So far, 11 arrests have been made in this investigation. Some were from Alexandria, Baton Rouge/Baker area, Mississippi, and Texas. RPSO said the investigation is continuing, and more arrests are expected.
