The new business and school week began on a mild note compared to the chill of late last week.

Afternoon highs ranged through the 70s with Oakdale and Esler Airport soaring to 77 degrees. Winnfield and Anacoco only managed to hit 70 degrees. The long-term average is 63 and the record is 83 set in 1906.
A few sprinkles were noted with small amounts falling at Toledo Bend, Simmesport, Fort Polk and Esler Airport.
Tuesday promises to be even warmer.
