I've just finished talking to the weather watchers and most of them remarked on the unseasonal warmth we've had this week.
Morning lows were mostly in the 60s; however, Natchez, Miss. and Oakdale only fell to 70 degrees. Winnfield was the cool spot with 62 degrees. The 30-year daily average is 41 degrees and the record is 21 in 1893.
Afternoon highs soared into the upper 70s and the lower 80s despite considerable cloudiness. Simmesport hit 83 degrees with Williana and Esler Airport close behind with 82. The 30-year daily average is 62 degrees and the record is 85 in 1892.
The much-anticipated cold front will move into central Louisiana during the PM hours Thursday. The front should stir up some rain and you will notice a change toward cooler weather by Thursday night. By Friday, much lower temperatures are in the forecast.
