LPD: Man arrested for bank robbery

LEESVILLE, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - The man responsible for robbing the City Savings Bank in Leesville is behind bars.

According to the Leesville Police Department, their investigators, with help from the DeRidder Police Department and the Beauregard Parish's Sheriff's Office, arrested Michael Lee Jones, 26, of DeRidder, on December 11.

Lawmen said Jones was arrested without incident at his residence.

A search warrant was issued and upon executions, several items were recovered that had been identified at the time of the robbery. This incident remains under investigation.

Michael Jones was booked into the Leesville City Jail on the charge of Armed Robbery.  His total bond was set at $200,000.00. 

According to the Leesville Police, Jones entered City Savings Bank and demanded money on December 9th about 4 p.m. He was then given an undisclosed amount and left on foot.
