RPSO arrest two for debit card theft

RAPIDES PARISH, La. (KALB News Channel 5) Rapides Parish Deputies arrest two in debit card theft investigation.

According to the Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office, Deputies have arrested Kalie Michelle Welch, 25, of Deville and William Stephen Bragg Jr., 29, of Pineville in the investigation of a November theft.

RPSO said on Nov. 1, Deputies responded to a residence on Gene Gunter Rd. Deville, in reference to the theft of a debit card. The victim alleged that a male and female acquaintance stole his debit card, transferred approximately $500.00 dollars to their account and used the card to pay their cell phone bill.  

Detectives began their investigation and identified the two suspects. RPSO said Welch and Bragg were each arrested on warrants obtained for one count of Theft by access Card > 500.  RPSO said both subjects were arrested by Patrol and Metro Division deputies without incident, and they were booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center. 

According to RPSO, Welch was released on a $2,500.00 bond. Bragg remains in jail with an out of state probation hold.
