LSUA unveils new logo

Posted: Updated:

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - LSU Alexandria has unveiled new rebranding for the university.

This includes a new brand and tag line to accompany a new and high energy marketing campaign incorporating traditional, social, and direct marketing tactics.

The primary LSUA logo incorporates the LSU image and colors (purple and gold), but at the same time also gives LSU of Alexandria its own identity. The new image is part of the One LSU initiative aimed at increasing the statewide impact of LSU by bringing the various campuses closer together.

"We are very excited about the new brand and the image that it projects", said Paul Coreil, LSUA Interim Chancellor.   "It brings in the name recognition and statewide reach of LSU while keeping the connection to Alexandria and the central Louisiana region."  LSUA Director of University Relations Sarah Black said, "We believe that the new brand will generate excitement both on campus and within the community.  This is an exciting time for LSUA and LSU, and we are looking forward to using the new brand for years to come."

The rebranding of the university will allow LSUA to show potential students everything that the school has to offer with special emphasis on the closer ties to and integration with the larger LSU statewide footprint.

With support from the LSUA Foundation, LSUA is working with Baton Rouge based MESH Integrated Marketing & Advertising to assist in the University's overall branding effort.

The full scope of the campaign will follow in early January.

The new branding will be officially implemented in 2014.
