RPSO make arrest in vehicle burglary

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) Rapides Parish Deputies arrest Pineville man in vehicle burglary.

According to the Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office, on Dec. 13, Deputies responded to a vehicle burglary in Pineville. RPSO said the victim told deputies he was leaving for work and discovered his pistol, wallet, two boxes of ammunition and other items missing from his vehicle.

RPSO said deputies later identified Sean Onishea, 18, of Pineville as the suspect, and they determined he was on his way to sell the firearm taken in the burglary. Deputies located Onishea walking on Esler Field Rd. and stopped him. Onishea admitted the handgun was in his backpack, and deputies secured the gun, placing him under arrest for Illegal Possession of a Stolen Firearm pending further investigation. 

Deputies said further searching uncovered some of the stolen ammunition and other items taken from the vehicle. RPSO said all the items recovered were returned to the victim. 

RPSO said Onishea was transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center and booked for Burglary of a Vehicle, Possession of a Stolen  Firearm and Possession of Stolen Things <300.  Onishea remains in jail on a $15,000.00 bond.
