The beautiful weather pattern continues in central Louisiana.
It was a cold start; however, with readings dipping into the upper 20s to the middle 30s. Winnfield was the cold spot with 28 degrees with Jena, Esler Airport, and Leesville following at 29. Fort Polk and Pine Prairie were the warm spots with 34 degrees. The long-term daily average is 40 degrees and the record is 20 set in 1972.
Full time sunshine turned the temperature around 30-40 degrees from the morning low to the afternoon high. Bellwood, Natchitoches, and Esler Airport hit 70 degrees while Opelousas only managed 64. The 30-year daily average is 60 and the record is 79 in 1924.
Little change is expected into Wednesday.
