Central Louisiana remained under the influence of a tranquil weather pattern Wednesday.
The day began with a chill as minimum temperatures fell into the 30s. Winnfield and Jena reported 31 degrees but the thermometer in Ville Platte stayed at 37. These numbers are below the long-term daily average of 40 degrees and the record of 15 set in 1901.
Ample sunshine once again turned temperatures around 30+ degrees by the afternoon. Bellwood hit 72 degrees and it was 71 in Natchitoches. Natchez, Miss. reported a high of 66 degrees. The 30-year daily average is 60 and the record is 81 in 1908.
You will notice some changes in the weather Thursday. Most notable will be the increase in clouds and stronger wind. This is in response to a storm system taking shape along the West Coast.
