Natchitoches man arrested on terrorizing charges

NATCHITOCHES, La. (KALB News Channel 5) – A Natchitoches man has been arrested by the Natchitoches Police Department and charged with terrorizing.

According to the Natchitoches Police, on December 19, a school resource officer reported a student had just informed him that they had information that someone might be bringing a weapon to Natchitoches Central High School to do harm to other students and faculty.

Dispatchers sent units to the school where they contacted the school administration about the threat.

The school was immediately placed on lockdown and the investigation was begun to locate the suspect.

NPD said the suspect was apprehended approximately 30 minutes later at his residence on South Bend Drive in Natchitoches.

De'Kerry Booker, 18, was charged with one count of R.S. 14: 40.1 Terrorizing, after it was revealed that he had sent messages via social media the night before to several friends.

These messages were then shared with other students, one being the complainant that brought it to the attention of their resource officer.

Booker was placed in the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center awaiting bond.
