Natchitoches Parish Grand Jury indicts two men

Natchitoches, LA. (KALB News Channel 5) — Natchitoches Parish men indicted in two separate cases.

According to Natchitoches Parish District Attorney Van H. Kyzar, Alan Virgil Brumfield, 48, of Natchitoches, was charged in the Oct. 13 shooting death. Ted Charles Brou, 37, was killed in the shooting at a residence in Creston.

Kyzar said Brumfield was recently apprehended by the Collier County Sheriff's Office in Naples, FL., after his rental vehicle was located in the Everglades National Park.  Detectives with the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff's Office traveled to FL. to escort Brumfield back to Natchitoches to face his charges. Brumfield was formally charged with 2nd Degree Murder, Home Invasion and 2nd Degree Kidnapping.

Kyzar said Earnest Glynn Hamilton, 36, of Natchitoches was formally charged with the Aggravated Rape of an 11-year-old child. The child revealed to her mother in November that Hamilton had raped her on two separate occasions, resulting in her pregnancy. 

According to Kyzar, both defendants are scheduled for arraignment in the 10th District Court in early January, and a trial date will be set at that time.
