Last minute Christmas shoppers

Posted: Updated:

PINEVILLE, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - Finding extra time in your day can be a little tricky, especially when you are shopping for the holidays.

I just got off work and I came in here to get some cards and stuff. I'm enjoying the day. I have a couple of more presents to pick up so I am just enjoying the day," said Charles Watkins, a Colfax resident.

Last minute Christmas shoppers are out in Cenla, trying to complete their Christmas lists before Santa's footsteps hits their rooftops.

"I love the craziness of it all. I've been cooking and just got out to do a few last minute things. Just enjoying seeing everyone else in a frenzy," said Theresa Slayter, from the Hudson Creek Community.

For many, last minute Christmas shopping has become a necessity rather than a choice.

"Sometimes it is a matter of work, they do not get off in time. You know they have gone down everybody on their list then they find that one person that somehow got over looked or they thought they had but did not have. So they have go and find something for them," said Erica Johnson, a sales associate at Holiday Hallmark.

So last minute Christmas shopping does not always have to do with just work and being to0 busy. Sometimes it is just family tradition.

"They wait till the last minute, till Christmas Eve to do their shopping. Then they go home and put their tree up, so they are still some family traditions like that," said Louise Lajaunie.
