ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - For some families, giving back is part of the Christmas tradition.
The Manna House on Third Street in Alexandria was open to serve those in need of a hot meal.
Volunteers gave up a few hours of their Christmas to provide meals and even presents and they say it's the right thing to do.
"Well I was at home and all my kids are all away in the world and I wasn't going to cook so I said you know what I'm going to volunteer and helps these peoples," said Beatrice Pizarro.
The Manna House is open every day of the year to provide a free lunch for those in need.
